It is that time again… when you get to meet one of the mystery humans behind our quirky avatars!
At Escone Solutions, we pride ourselves on being a team full of people who are happy and enthusiastic about what they do, and we just love sharing our ‘real’ people with you.
You have met Kev, Douglas, Alice, Sam and Ewan, now it is time to meet Mike Charles – our Co-Founder and Director.
1. Tell us about your current role?
My role, alongside Kevin, is to ensure that our business continues to not only survive but thrive. This means I take on more than a few responsibilities from identifying new opportunities, developing strong relationships, ensuring that our staff are happy and have a path for their own development, and jumping on the tools when required.
Of course, it also involves making the tea, drinking the tea and ensuring that we have enough tea bags for the tea! (Can you tell I like tea?).
2. What do you enjoy most about the work you do?
Having our own business has so many great aspects and I love every part of it. But having a working environment that people want to be part of and are happy to be here makes this whole experience extremely enjoyable. Our team are all talented individuals that bring pride to their work, and it shows in the service we deliver.
3. How do you think your colleagues see you?
As a soft touch that eats too many biscuits, probably.
4. Tell us something you learned in the last week? (work or personal related)
I learned how to use a Nutri Bullet blender properly… Only after not reading the instructions and covering the worktop and everything in the proximity of the kitchen with smoothie mix – twice!
I still haven’t learned to read instructions though…
5. What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
Life these days is all about family and work, but I do enjoy a bit of downtime on a Friday night with a couple of beers and occasionally I even manage to get a shot of the PlayStation.
I like to keep myself busy mentally by reading and listening to all sorts of books and to keep active I really “enjoy” getting a pasting at AKR Fitness (They are great!)
