Aberdeen-based business applications support firm Escone Solutions has welcomed two new Business Applications Support Analysts to its expanding team.
The appointment of Katie Monro and Kirsty Ross brings to six the number of new recruits to the company this year, boosting Escone’s growth plans for its client portfolio across a range of sectors, including transport, food and drink, and housing as well as oil and gas.
A former Digital Technology Intern at Baker Hughes where she specialised in IT Project Co-ordinating and Data Analysis, Katie studied at Robert Gordon University, gaining an MSc in Business Analytics last December.
She said: “To support my Master’s thesis, I undertook a summer placement with the University of Edinburgh as a Project Assistant, where I created a Power Business Intelligence dashboard focusing on online customer reviews using web scraping and sentiment analysis methods to understand customer feedback.“
“I’m very much looking forward to developing and applying the skills and experience from my degree and previous professional employment as well as building on my analytical skills and expanding my technical knowledge.”
Kirsty, meanwhile, graduated from The University of Aberdeen with an MA in Business Management and Information Systems in July. She completed University placements in the Netherlands with Bluewater Energy Services as part of the Data Analysis and Business Intelligence team and as an admin assistant with Castleton Farm. She also worked in Customer Service at B&Q for five years throughout her studies.
“I see myself improving my problem-solving skills and expanding my technical knowledge of the systems at Escone. Over time, I hope to tackle more complicated support issues and build strong client relationships,” she said.
“I’m particularly excited about the hands-on problem-solving aspect of this role. Being part of a team that’s knowledgeable, supportive, and willing to collaborate makes a huge difference so I’m looking forward to learning from the team, sharing ideas and tackling challenges together.”
