Ewan joined Escone Solutions in the summer of 2020 during lockdown on a part-time basis helping with Escone’s marketing efforts. Later in 2020, Ewan joined the team on a full-time basis and has since taken on more responsibility for growing the business and working with current and potential clients. Bringing his experience to the team and being another Robert Gordon University graduate, Ewan has been a great addition to the team.
How long have you worked at Escone and what is your role?
I’ve been working at Escone for just over 3 years now. My role covers many things; I am heavily involved in the business’ Marketing, Business Development and Account Management efforts. My role involves working with the whole team in different capacities to help grow exposure to Escone.
What do you most enjoy about your job?
Going back and forth with current and potential clients to find out how our services can best serve them and make their working lives easier. On top of this working with the team at Escone to showcase what we are doing and the great work they have done.
Which of Escone’s core values do you align with most?
Self-expressive – I have always been someone who tries to put my stamp on things, and I enjoy the fact I get the opportunity to do that at work. Getting the freedom to produce ideas and run with them has benefited me a lot over my time at Escone.
What are your work goals?
My goal would be to keep enjoying what I do – I just enjoy improving and learning within my role, and I get a lot of scope for that within my role at Escone.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve been given in your career?
When told early in my career that everyone is faking it in some capacity I realised not to worry about things too much as at the end of the day people are all on their track and are just taking things as they come.
What is your dream holiday location?
Bit of a cheat as I have been there before but doing the East Coast of Australia again would be incredible. Rather than Greyhound busses, hire a car and just meander up the coast.
What phone app could you not live without?
Right now, probably WhatsApp. Just because it is the main way I stay connected with my family and friends.
Favourite film/TV series?
My favourite film is a bit standard answer but Dark Knight or any of the Christopher Nolan Batman films. TV shows would either be Ted Lasso or Breaking Bad.
Book or podcast? Which do you prefer and what would you recommend?
Not reading as much as I should be but my favourite book, I have read is Never Split the Difference by Chris Voss. The podcast I have recently been enjoying is The Rest is Football with Gary Lineker, Allan Shearer, and Micah Richards. Just an easy listen.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
Teleportation, just pop to various parts of the world on weekends as I please.
