Sam joined Escone Solutions in 2019 and is one of our in-house eBIS experts, working with clients to improve and get the best out of their systems. Whether it is working on projects or assisting with tickets, Sam is always happy to help and share her knowledge. Sam joined Escone through the apprenticeship route and has grown from strength to strength. Sam is a real asset to Escone and is a vital part of the team.
How long have you worked at Escone and what is your role?
I have worked at Escone for 4 years now and my role is Business Application Consultant working in the eBIS Consultancy team.
What do you most enjoy about your job?
I enjoy helping clients bring their visions of how they want to use their systems to life. It is exciting to work on projects that will hopefully make clients’ day-to-day lives easier.
Which of Escone’s core values do you align with most?
I align most with Committed as I believe I am committed to the work I complete and always like to show up to work doing the best I possibly can. I think we all align with all the core values and do our best to fulfil them in the work we provide.
What are your work goals?
My work goals are to be the best I can be within my role while continuing to strive to do more and taking any growth opportunities where I can. If I think about my last 4 years where I am now, I could never have bet that this is what I would be doing so hopefully I can keep that momentum and see what the next 4 have in store.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve been given in your career?
The best piece of advice I have been given is that we should always want to continue to learn regardless of what stage we are at in our careers. Having the willingness to learn is not something that should ever be lost as it helps make sure you are always continuing to learn and grow and ultimately do better, which I definitely want to be doing.
What is your dream holiday location?
My dream holiday location is Florida (sorry not sorry) it is my happy place. The hour-long queues for a rollercoaster are all worth it. It’s definitely a holiday you then need a holiday from after, but it will always have a place in my heart.
What phone app could you not live without?
I don’t think I could live without Google, I love googling everything and anything. I am one of these annoying people who if they are watching a TV show or movie and I recognize a face I will swiftly go and Google them and check all their filmography and find out where I recognise them from. I am far too invested in the lives of celebrities haha.
Favourite film/TV series?
My favourite TV series is swayed by what I’ve been watching recently but Desperate Housewives is my fave at the moment. I’m also a sucker for any reality tv, I love the drama give me the Kardashians or Real Housewives of Beverly Hills any day. The other side of my personality loves Black Panther and Avengers Endgame. My film and TV Series tastes are wildly different.
Book or podcast? Which do you prefer and what would you recommend?
A book is just different, you can get a totally different kind of engrossment. My book recommendation isn’t outstanding by any stretch as my book collection is not a very grand one now, but I would recommend Verity by Coleen Hoover as it was the first book I have read since I was at school…
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
If I could have one superpower, I think I would want to have the ability to have telekinesis powers. If I could just be a combination of the Scarlet Witch and Magneto combined with a little less evil I would.
