At Escone Solutions, we recently welcomed our fourth apprentice into the business. As a result, we thought it would be a great idea to highlight these remarkable individuals and learn more about their stories.
Sam joined Escone Solutions in 2019 and serves as one of our eBIS experts. Thus far, she has not only been the quickest to complete her apprenticeship within the company, but she has also obtained her ITIL Foundation qualification. Sam works extensively across the board, ensuring that client’s projects are handled precisely according to their preferences. From the initial scope to the building, testing, and implementation phases, Sam has made significant progress since joining us directly after finishing school.

Which school did you attend?
When did you join Escone?
I joined Escone in September 2019 after leaving RGU.
Why did you decide to take up an apprenticeship?
I decided to take the apprenticeship after attending both college and university and realising that Uni wasn’t for me. I wanted a ‘real’ world experience, earning my own pennies, so I decided to make the transition and to dip my toes into working to see what I would enjoy doing.
What has the apprenticeship given you in terms of experience, confidence, career development?
The apprenticeship has allowed me to start my career at Escone and hopefully go from strength to strength. The longer I’ve been working with the team, the more confident I have become. I have also gained a lot of experience in the business and the working world. The apprenticeship is what you make it. Some people may take it with a pinch of salt but for me, at a time when I wanted to start my career and start living a more ‘adult’ life, it was exactly what I needed.
How have the team at Escone supported you in your development?
The team have been a great support – Kevin, Mike, and Alice are all great mentors that I work closely with. I love that each of them inspires all of us, pushing us to strive for more and to never just get stuck in a rut. They are great advocates for continually growing and developing whether that be in a personal or professional sense. I can’t thank them enough for the opportunities and the support over the years which has ultimately helped shape who I’m becoming.
Have you any career plans for the next few years?
I’m happy with where my career has naturally progressed so far, and I’m excited to remain on that journey while still improving daily. I plan to remain here at Escone as I love this little family and wouldn’t change it for the world.
