Team Escone are always up for a challenge and this month has been a belter…
Kay Chan encouraged some of the team to take part in the Tough Mudder epic 21-day fitness adventure throughout July to raise funds for Mental Health Aberdeen and the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.
Spearheaded by Kay; Kevin Wyness, Mike Charles, Jodie Donald, Sam Michie and Alice Emmison completed a series of activities as a team and individually to push their body and mind. Visiting local North East munros and hills including Càrn a’ Mhàim, Mount Keen and Bennachie to clock up kilometres, check out a few of their completed efforts in just 21 days:
The Extra Mile: Walked, ran, cycled or crawled 100km
Grand Canyon: Climbed the depth of the Grand Canyon – that’s 1,829m or 6000ft! The team gained elevation by walking, running or cycling up hills
Centurion 1000: 200 sit-ups, 200 squats, 200 jumping jacks, 200 push ups and 200 lunges
Arctic Enema: The team recited the Tough Mudder pledge line by line as they dunked their head in a bucket or bowl filled with 10 litres of water and ice
Graffeeti: Letting their feet do the talking, the team drew Tough Mudder on a tracking app by walking or running the route
Mother Hen: They all planked for two minutes straight with half a dozen eggs beneath them
Down in One: Simple as that, they each drank one raw egg!
It was all for two amazing causes and of course lots of fun but today, Thursday 30th July marks the end of the challenge and some of the team are glad its done!
But it’s guaranteed that they will all wear their much deserved Tough Mudder headband with pride! Well done to all those involved!
